One Last Post For 2006.

This is my "thank you" posting.

It's been a crazy year. Lots of ups and downs, lots of twists and turns. Where I am today is NOT where I thought I was going to be one year ago. I'm pretty sure I have no idea where I will be one year from tonight.

But one constant? This crapblog. And you, the readers. It's been a chore blogging sometimes, my motivation has been mercurial, but more often than not, you all have made it fun. It's all of you who make this ridiculous hobby worthwhile.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I hope you each have gotten your money's worth from Garfield Ridge this year (Ummm, remember-- it's free, people. You want to complain? Get in line).

Liveblogging: Bears Vs. Packers.

Since tonight is my usual New Year's Eve-- at home alone, with nothing better to do-- I figure I might as well do what I do best.

No, not THAT. . . blog.

So, join me for a few hours worth of blogging the Chicago Bears/Green Bay Packers game.

My goal tonight? To hear Brett Favre's name repeated 85 times a quarter. I'm going with the over. . .

Saddam's Execution.

Here's the video. Yes, it's grim, so if you don't want to watch, don't.

That said-- I'm surprised the Iraqis asked my Dad to videotape the execution. Seriously, one of the most significant events in the history of Iraq, and they send a guy who can't point a camcorder straight? They knew this day was coming for years, how hard was it to remember to bring a frickin' tripod?

Surreal.

UPDATE: Rumor has it that's just some guy who snuck in a camera phone, and not the official cameraman.

Still doesn't change the fact the idiot doesn't have an eye for framing.

Heavens, this game is awful. So much for another season.

BTW, my Dad told me today that people in Chicago are complaining about how the NFL moved the Bears-Packers game at the last minute from noon to 7:00 pm. . . on New Year's Eve. Apparently, this is gumming up more than a few New Year's plans for Bears fans in the Windy City.

My New Year's Eve plans? Watching the Bears-Packers game, downing a bottle of champagne, and in bed by 11:00 pm. Garfield Ridge. . . catch the excitement!

Then again, perhaps I can grab a last-minute ticket to the George Clinton show at Constitution Hall. Alas, as much as I'd enjoy ringing in 2007 with da funk, I just know that Wednesday morning I'd get surprised with a random drug test.

Hmmm. Perhaps the Wiggles are in town instead. . .

That's nothing. I hear that later in the year, Wisconsin plans on mailing taxpayers their refunds in cash stapled to the front of the envelopes.

This is terrible-- where else will New York City go to smoke?

UPDATE: Iraqi media reports Saddam was executed by hanging shortly before 10:00 pm Eastern time.

If so, that's the best news all year.
