It’s time to add a few new links here to Garfield Ridge.
As always, links do not reflect an endorsement on my behalf, except when they do. It’s up to you to figure out which is which.
Elemenohpee is run by Scott out of the smog capital of the world, Beijing, China. In addition to having himself a good expat perspective, Scott also enjoys fine movies and fast automobiles (check out his link to a hilarious Dodge “I can’t believe it has four effin’ doors” Charger ad).
Brian Dunbar manages Space for Commerce, a pro-space exploration site. He’s Garfield Ridge’s visiting expert on all things “space elevator.” Which, to tell the truth, is a good expert to have. Because have you ever gotten stuck between floors at a Lagrange point? If so, I sure hope you packed yourself a lunch.
Uncle Mikey is a blogger from Austin, Texas. He has a perfectly competent blog, with very fine links, a modest blogroll. . . and no traffic. After a year’s worth of blogging (!!). This situation makes the baby Jesus very angry, and you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. You should visit Uncle Mikey—start here with a link to a classic National Lampoon expose, “Superman Is A Dick.” (BTW, I'm almost positive I linked that page once before, which makes Uncle Mikey's site stale. On second thought, don't visit his site, it smells like mothballs).
Donna’s blog Pajama Pundits is a cheerful affair that I link for two big reasons: 1) she asked me nicely; 2) I need as many female readers as I can get. After all, women are civilized, responsible, and mature. Or at least that’s what I’ve learned watching a lifetime’s worth of According To Jim episodes.
Cap’n Bob is a blogger in SoCal, a senior aerospace engineer in his day job. All I know is that if he works for any of the contractors I deal with on a regular basis, you should watch your wallet around the thieving bastard. Otherwise, pay him a visit.
I’m not sure if BlancoBrawler is a student at the University of Texas, or is simply a fan of the comic stylings of Charles Whitman. Either way, I’d be afraid around anyone posting fighting fists on his homepage. BTW, dude, buddy—you ask for me to link you, but you don’t have Garfield Ridge linked? I’ll let this slight slide, for now. . . but I’ll be watching you.
And last but most definitely not least, the lovely and talented Kateykakes at Katey’s Kafe. I’ve been promising Katey a blogrolling for some time now, and thankfully she’s been quite patient with my slackerdom.
Of course, blogroll updates are never just fun and games, but are also occasions for sadness too as I delete old links.
Son of Nixon became Boston Irish became. . . nothing. I hope the guy returns sooner or later with something new, or else his acerbic Beantown voice will be missed.
Musings of a Fat Kid was one of the original links, but it’s been dead for a while now. Another sad loss.
Star Wars is over now, so goodbye to The Force Net. No more spoilers left.
Sister Mary Chainsaw is fallow. Ditto El Miguel’s Heraclitean World.
Opinion8 is no more. However, Opinion8’s blogger Patton posts over at the Ministry of Minor Perfidy, so you can go read him there.
Until next time. . . Stay classy, San Diego.
